In regards to unlocking, the DFI board can do it and do it well with the latest bios. Most of the newer x3 720s don't unlock, so don't buy it hinging on unlocking it.

I strongly recommend waiting a few more weeks if you can and buying a Phenom II x2 555. It will be the C3 stepping, most new batches bought will unlock, and overall is way better. The C3 stepping will overclock higher and has a much better IMC for high memory/NB frequency.

It should hit shelves soon. These chips are supposed to be under NDA until November 4th, but they are actually being sold and benched now

Thanks man, but I went ahead and got the phenom II x4 deneb. I think I'll be happier. I have upgraded before, gone a bit cheap, and regretted it later. (getting my am2 instead of am2+ board for example) I am getting pretty excited to try my new rig out when it gets here next week. I havent overclocked in awhile as the 6000's didnt oc very well, so I am really looking forward to seeing what this new proc can do.

Thanks again for all the help!
