Cool AMD mobo/gpu combo = $100 Is it worth it?

The guy who sold me his Athlon 64 x2 6000+ is selling his MSI K9A2 CF-F V2 AM2+/AM2 AMD 790X Motherboard & his HIS HD 4850 IceQ 4 1GB(256bit) GDDR3 PCIe video card for $100.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130172

http://www.hisdigital.com/us/product2-30.shtml

That board is an older SB600 board, but it should overclock your Brisbane just fine.

It'll probably struggle with Phenom & Phenom II CPU's though.

The GPU is great, and both for $100 is perfect IMO.

So... coupled with what I've got right now the board and video card would give me a nice performance boost for the money?

Yea. If I remember right, the K9A2 v1 had problems with the VRMs overheating, and with the v2 they improved the power delivery and added that nice cooler to the VRM section.

It should overclock alright and even be decent paired with a Phenom II down the road.

Cool. I just didn't want to feel like I was making at bad choice. I know the video is a good one. The board on the other hand didn't stand out.

Yeah.

You've got a nice combo of RAM, CPU, Board, GPU. You should do pretty well with the whole setup.

Little known fact, but the x2 6000+ can be faster than the 7750BE & 7780BE.

Depending on the game.

They clock about the same: 3.2ghz Average, 3.4ghz is a good/great overclock.
