Getting Ready to Buy! Any Suggestions?
I'm ready to purchase the parts to make my computer. All I needed was a Mobo, CPU, and RAM. The Mobo needed to be micro ATX. Here's what I have decided on.
__________________MSI 785GM-E65 MotherBoard AMD Phenom II 550 BE OCZ Obsidian 1600mhz DDR3 Will probably be run at 1333mhz. Is there any better choices for the price? Also factor in the rebates. Stupid question too, How do you pronounce Phenom? I've heard Fee-Nom and Feh-Num.

That looks pretty good, don't count on the rebates though. Never calculate them into your final price. Consider them bonuses that you get later

I used the DDR2 version of that board in a friend's build. Didn't try overclocking it because he didn't want to pay for a cooler, but from what I saw in the bios you should be able to get some good clocks out of it.

I'm going to be using a 9800GX2 that I had in my old rig until I decide to buy a dx11 card.
__________________I'll just stick with the 550, I pretty much spent the most I really wanted to. The 555 was bound to be a little more expensive. I just pray I get a good overclocker and maybe even a stable unlockable chip. I'll make a build log because I plan to purchase some MDPC Sleeve sometime in the near future. I hope it turns out ok.
