Default Upcoming Build

I plan on building my first pc this month and after loads of research I have a pretty good idea of what ill be ordering. I would like to ask the community's opinion on the parts:

Case: Antec 1200

PSU: Antec TruePower Quattro TPQ-1000 1000W

CPU: Phenom II 965
Question: When should newegg stock the newer stepping of the 965?

CPU cooler: Megahalems

Motherboard: MSI 790FX-GD70

Hard Drives: 2 x 500GB Western Digital Caviar Black in RAID 0
1 x 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black

RAM: CORSAIR DOMINATOR 8GB (4 x 2GB) DDR3 1600
Question: Will this ram be compatible with the motherboard/cpu?

Graphics Card: Either 5850 or 5870 depending on the deals I get on other parts.

The final cost of this build will fall under 1400 hopefully. I'm hoping to approve this build early so I can watch for daily deals on newegg So just let me know of any problems with this build.

No doubt it will fall under 1400...

A few things:

Why on earth would you want a 1000W PSU for that? Overkill IMO.

With a budget of 1400 you could easily make an i7 build, why not?

Concerning the RAM question you have, yes it should work fine.

Also, that motherboard would be best utilized as a multiple GPU board since it has 4x PCI-E slots. I'm guessing you got that 1000W because you intended on getting more GPUs?

Yes, you are correct, the 1000W PSU is for future use with up to 4 graphics cards loaded onto the motherboard.

I have considered an i7 build but tbh I dont know where to begin. I still want to keep the ati 5000 series card for DX11 so if anybody was willing to propose a build ill gladly take a look. This rig will be used primarily for gaming, but it should also be capable of some video editing and 3d modeling (3ds max, maya)
