Default Is this a good build?

I have a Corsair 850tx, 4gb Gskill DDR2 800, and a 9800Gx2 that are going into this. What I need is in the screen shot.

I am mainly concerned about the board, will it be good for a build like this?

And while I'm here, what would be a good heatsink for this, I don't plan to OC this out the door, but what will keep it cool?

A lot of OC'ers use the GA-MA790X-UD4P and MA790XT's, if you wanted to still keep an ASUS board and 965 combo; I'd pick this one:

In terms of heatsinks, I've seen a lot of good results with the Xigmatek Dark Knight and this:

I had the Xiggy HDT-S1283 (regular version of the Dark Knight) and the Scythe Mugen 2 is better.

The C3 Revision CPUs are coming out soon, I would say wait a week or two before buying. They are supposed to clock higher and use less power.

Hey, thanks for all the response, I know you all have the best in mind when you recommend these boards that use DDR3. I however already have DDR2 800 ram on hand and would like to use it. Is this board a good one to use?

That board will do the job just fine, and for cooling I would go with the DK.How many GB of 800 ram do you have? DDR2 is going up in price and DDR3 is going down so I would consider that if you will be looking to add more down the road.Just might be cost effective to go the DDR3 route.

Yes, that's a good board. Scythe MUGEN 2 for CPU cooler.

I have 4gb, I see your point though, lemme look at that.

edit: yeah, the price of a 2x2gb kit is about the same. within 10-15$. I might go DDR3 depending on if the budget will burst or not.

Edit 2: going with the GA-MA790XT-UD4P and DDR3 brings up the needed parts price to 500, I think that will work. I expect that this will run reasonably with a 9800Gx2.

Why would I scrap a perfectly running 9800Gx2 and an 850 watt PSU.

Perhaps you could read into the thread more before posting, and perhaps post with proper writing.

Don't make a suggestion you wouldn't give rep to.

Thanks.
