Default Computer locks up- 965BE/UD5P MB

Hi,

I just rebuilt my system and installed my new 965BE and UD5P MB. All my hardware is listed below. For some reason every once in a while my system just locks up. I just installed all the newest drivers and I am not sure why I would have this issue. Does any one have any idea why this would happen? How could I trouble shoot this? The MB, RAM, and CPU are out of the box and untouched. I have the lastest F7 bios and that didnt sure the issue. I could use some ideas.

Please ask for any other info that would help you help me fix this.

Thanks

What settings are you trying to run?

Is that retail or RC W7?

Have you tried your drives out of RAID?

What overclock settings do you have?

Every thing is stock. W7 is retail, worked fine with my 550 till the pin broke. Havent tried it out of RAID yet since I dont feel like reloading every thing again.

When it loads and the windows logo comes up and it says starting windows under the logo it hiccups and the starting windows text jumps down a inch and then back up.

It ran fine for a few hours today, played a game every thing was golden. I hadn't changed a thing and it started resetting it self and locking up. I tried updating the bios and it still does it. So I am unsure of what to do.

I have my two HD and DVD running off the same leg(wire) from my PSU. Could it be too much of a draw?

OK here is another thing I had to set the month and time before. I just reset the date and time again. After I did that my system, locked up. I hit the reset button on the case. Then as I tried to post about it here the system restarted it's self again. The date and time are correct. Thought that might help

Usually when the date and time resets it is a dead CMOS battery. Just because it is new doesnt mean it is good. Your situation sounds weird though cause I have never seen a dead battery exhibit those problems.

If you can, test your battery voltage, or replace the battery with a new one.
As it sounds like that could be the root of the problem.

As for your HDD/DVD power, that's fine. No worries on that end.

Also, have you tried turning off Cool & Quiet in the BIOS, or any of the Spread Spectrums?

mine wouldn't boot at stock on either on my 965's. try giving it +2 on the north bridge volts and a little extra ram voltage

Since I have a fan controller I didnt touch cool and quiet. I will switch out my batt with the one from my old UD4P see if that works. What is a spread spectrum?
