Hi Everyone,
Recently my AthlonXP machine i use for my Dad and Brother decided to stop working. it will turn on and display both the power LED and HDD LED without going into a POST or a OS. There are no Post beeps at all. The monitor displays a no signal message. so far i have tried the monitor by plugging VGA cable into a VGA out on the laptop which worked, ruling out the monitor as the problem. replaced all 3 sticks of 512mb ram. replaced GFX card. replaced PSU. Cleared CMOS is there anything i am missing? if it was the CD/DVDRW or HDD this would be displayed as an error on post? i am going to try this anyway as i have some spares but i couldn't see that the issue. anyone else any other ideas? appricated all help recieved. thanks Anjokid

If you have any spare skt A parts I'd try testing out the CPU and MOBO to rule out which part is problematic. Also try testing out the HDD if you get the chance.

try this pull all mem and cards out and unhook all cables and see if you get a post beep then. if you do, then start plugging in and hooking up one thing at a time. also, try resetting the CMOS and if that still doesnt work, pull the Coin Battery out and leave it out over night and give that a try. if all of this still does not work, let me know i have a Spare ECS Socket 462(A) motherboard and cpu set up i need to get rid of. will let the two go for $40 shipped.
Items: ECS K7VTA3 rev.6.0 AMD Athlon XP 2700+ w/ Stock Cooler. Again try that first and then get with me.

All the stuff I would've tried it seems you've already done. One last question does your GFX card have a VGA port and a DVI port? If so try using the DVI port via a DVI-VGA adapter.

I agree do what Lunchbox said in his first post, let us know if you get any beeps at all. Just make sure you have a speaker in there, I did that before, lol.
