Sorry if this is in the wrong section but I didn't know where else to post this.
So this is the thing. My computer is fine from the start. I do my thing and what not and then when I'm done I turn the monitor off and go about my business. Its apon returning that the keyboard doesn't respond and the mouse works, but after a few seconds the mouse freezes and I can't do anything. I can only gather that its Windows, this just started recently and before then I had a problem where the computer would just BSOD on me after a few minutes from startup. I figured it was the memory considering it was Corsair Dominators sticks and I've read they've been known to fail, so I replaced it with my previous sticks and the BSOD went away. Shortly after, this starts to happen, but signs don't point to the memory, but then again I can't assume right. Has anyone had such a problem where the Keyboard is non-responsive but the mouse works and then stops. I have to cold boot and start all over again. I also notice that this doesn't happen everytime I leave the computer. Sometimes I'll come back a few hours later and everything still working. Other times not the case. And there are times when I go to use it that both the keyboard and mouse aren't working from the moment I get back on it. If your wondering I leave the computer on, and I have no screen savers enabled. When I leave I always turn the monitor off. Anyone have any ideas as to what it could be

The answer will be in Event Viewer.
Just type event viewer into the start menu search box.

As far as I can tell there arn't really any event that would cause such a thing. I see errors like "Windows Mobile-based device failed to connect due to communication (0x80072745) failure (see data for failure code)." This pertains to my Pocket PC, but other than that I also see "The VSS service is shutting down due to idle timeout." which pertains to the Volume Shadow Copy Service. So I disabled the system restore function for now. But it doesn't seem like this would be the cause. Its hard to tell with Event Viewer because it logs event I don't recognize and really I don't know what to look for.

For any event, right click and choose properties, click on the link in the box that appears, answer "Yes" in the next box and you'll get an online description of the problem from Microsoft.
