Default Finish building new system...couple of questions

Ok well the system in my sig has just been assembled and boots up fine. CPU temp is about 35 and MB is about 30

I have only one IDE device and one sata drive, sata drive reads in bios as 4th master (shouldnt it read as 3rdf master since I put it on the sata 1 connector?) is this alright?

Anyhow, my bro put in the windows cd to install and it started thg set-up automatically but I wanted to verify that everything was right in the bios and that I didint go ahead and install windows for nothing so I cancelled it when it asks you to agree/disagree. For some reason now though it wont start up the installation again it just sits there with a blinking cursor...

Would like to get this thing up and going, first time installing windows in 3 years so I forget just about everything, apprieciate any help...

edit to add: When I use a boot disk, I cant access the dvd drive as it doesn't have an assigned label and in bios and cant find the label either...

1. Did you fromat the HD?
2. Is the SATA drive recognized as the "Boot" drive?
3. Did you set BOOT other devices so when it cant find a HD it will look for the CD-ROM?
4. When you get to the install and it asks for third party drivers hit F6 and in a few minutes it will ask for the drivers. Hit "S" to load SATA/RAID drivers. Load them in order and thne repeat the th "s" load drivers process a second time.

You should put your SATA drive in SATA 0. Go to BIOS to configure boot priority.

1.The drive can be formated when you load Windows... do a "FULL" format in NTFS.
2. First it should show up in the Main screen ... not sure where it lists the boot drive in your BIOS.
3. Look around for the BOOT order... on that page it should have an option to boot other devices.
4. Why, no idea, just that the very first time I ever did it on my NF2 system and only ran the driver load only once it would not find the SATA drive. Asked around and the answer was do it twice.

it also says "none" under devices to be installed on or something like that...

what should I do? do I even need these drivers if I am not using raid?
