I know these are very different ICs to compare, but there is a reason...
So I'm torn between getting 2x 512mb TCCD chips, or making an upgrade to 2x 1gb and getting UCCC chips. Correct me if I'm wrong (please), but if I've read correctly UCCC chips are the best overclocking ICs on 1gb sticks for AMD systems... right? So my dilemma is rooted in trying to OC my Opty 146 (CAB2E) up to 3GHz with 1:1 ratio with my RAM, and this would be with the TCCD, while only having 1gb total, or throwing the 1:1 ratio out the door using a memory divider, getting 2gb total of UCCC, still getting a high clock and respectable timings, but not as high and tight as TCCD. So is the upgrade from 1gb to 2gb worth the sacrifice in timings and 1:1 ratio? This computer will mostly be used for gaming and internet uses. Anything, besides gaming, that needs beastly amounts of RAM and CPU power will be done on my other computer (the sig rig). Thanks!

tccd can be very good ram, ocz plat rev 2 is tccd one of the best 512 ddr sticks yuou can get (imo)
uccc is its succesor to the 1gb area, uccc ocs very well or can in my experience, not as high as tccd but it is 1gb sticks, if you get 1gb sticks try and grap those up

1gb of ram won't cut it anymore for gaming.

Thats why I'm having the dilemma. No offense to the other posters, but I'm already well aware of what you said, if that wasn't evident from my original post. But I know the future of PC games will most likely have a plethora of games needing 2gb for good operation. Which kind of brings me back to one of the other questions, which at the current time with games, will the lack of a 1:1 CPU:RAM ratio be worth the upgrade to 2x1gb? With my system, if I can get 250MHz+ on UCCC with 3-4-3-8 or 3-4-4-8, I'll need to use a 6:5 type of divider to get my CPU up to 3GHz (assuming it will do it, which is very likely). So either I do that to get my 2gb, or stick with 1gb with the TCCD, hopefully keep a 1:1 ratio and get 300MHz with 2.5-4-4-X or 2.5-3-3-X timings. Either way I need to upgrade from my 2x512mb CH-5...

It is gonna be hit or miss on the TCCD...It's not all gonna be great ram and the fact of you wanting DDR600 is gonna make the task even more tedious...I've had 4 sets of team group TCCD and only one set got that close to DDR 600...That only hit DDR 590 with 2.5-3-3-7...After that it didn't matter what I changed it never would do DDR600...So like I said you may get lucky but there are a lot of variables....Get the 2x1gig and just run it as high as you can...I can get DDR 554 out of my OCZ with like 3-4-4-9 @ 1T

I think I came to the conclusion that I'll wait on the UCCC, and go with TCCD, or.... BH-5. Well, its actually too late on the BH-5, as I already purchased a pair of 512mb sticks (for about $87 including shipping!). So now the question has changed... I might be able to get a pair of TCCD 512mb sticks for $125. Which is my best option for an Opteron system, on an A8N-SLI (non-Deluxe) motherboard? I haven't even hooked up the motherboard and CPU, so I don't really even know what my voltage adjustment options will be for my RAM... like if I'll possibly need a DDR booster with BH-5...?
I know, such a dilemma... BH-5 or TCCD? I know lots of people wish that was a choice they had to make.

Or should I even consider the possibility of getting Winbond UTT...? That may take some time to do, at least at a good price, but would it be a better option than BH-5 or TCCD?

if you need 2 gig get the uccc...running a divider wont hurt a bit...
and as stated not very many tccd kits make ddr600... the Patriot XBLK's will..I have 2 sets that will do ddr640 very easy... geil one tccd ddr600 would be a good bet if you can find them...about 150 for a set...but I'd go 2 gig anyhow... crucial value ram uses D9's on ddr.. those suposedly clock very well...I have a set myself...
