Default 4x512mb ddr troubles

ok i just put the rig in my sig together again and i installed vista ultimate with 1GB dual channel corsair valuselect in and then i turned it off and put in the other 512mb of rosewill in the other 2 dual channel slots and it posts but windows says some files got corrupted. but with 2x512mb it works fine. should i reinstall vista with all the sticks in or will it just not work you think?

I'd first try running memtest86+ on the second set of 512MB DDR DIMM's, it sounds as if they may be faulty if you're getting data corruption at boot. Are all four DIMM's the same timings and speed?

In that case you may want ot try manually setting the timings and speed of your faster RAM to the same speed as the slower RAM, rather than let SPD manage it. Give this a go first and then run memtest86+.

they worked together fine with my ASRock dual sata II but then again that board will do anything wierd

I'd set them both to 3-3-3-8 at first, that way you know that you aren't stressing the Corsair RAM.
