Sure there is... All you have to do is sit multiple computers up next to each other and then you're good to go... there's 8 slots...

As for on one mobo... I am not sure, again, that would be pretty pointless also, unless for a server...

Edit: ok, so there are mobo's with way more than just 8 slots.

But for an even better experience, I'd recommend Win95. Even more skinned down, which means MORE PERFORMANCE!

To reffer to OP:
Just curious, Gigabyte offers MOBOs with 4 RAM-slots with "16GB dual channel capacity"
Anyone even seen any 4GB DDR2 sticks???

In a desktop there is no need for 16Gb of RAM...period. In fact most chipsets don't even support that much memory......

This was the only article I could find about it, but it looks like Samsung has done it. Somewhere. http://apcmag.com/5956/4gb_on_one_stick_of_ram. That, and that corsair link.

Why bother with 4GB? With the 16GB sticks that Micron is offering, you can pack 64GB in machines with only 4 slots.

just because the board supports that much ram doesnt mean its really ment to happen today.. but in 2 yrs it will be upgradable to what is available then.

apparently someone doesnt do homework very good..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/64-bit

so says for the lazy people like me out there..

Quote:
The emergence of the 64-bit architecture effectively increases the memory ceiling to 264 addresses, equivalent to 17,179,869,184 gigabytes or 16 exabytes of RAM.
love to see what PC can max that out.....
