okay memtest passed with flying colors. I did memtest 2.01 with stock speeds. cpu mem

also im confused in my bios as to which voltage I would adjust for southbridge. is it the NB-SBv? Cpu-NB?(i would say no lol) and theres one called SB standby v with options 1.5-1.7 I believe.

***UPDATE****

looks like using the 12x multi is working out much better. still have to test further but im at least making it past the 2min mark in orthos. Ive done cpu, ram, and blend with no problems and im at 264X12(3167Mhz) vcore ~1.51 ht link is 1320 memory 5-5-5-18@396Mhz

and under stress of orthos blend test(notice the nice temps)

any suggestions on taking her further?

well Im stuck at 3.2 and even thats kinda unstable. ive linked it to memory under orthos. memory is tested on memtest and passed.

how far over 2.2 evp(extended volt protection)(1.9~2.1v stock range) do you think I could go with OCZ part# (OCZ2P800R21G)? what monitoring programs should I get to know if my memory is safe or is memory built with protection already.

craig198.... have you tried either dropping the HT multi to 4X or putting the ram divider at 667 (or both) to see what kind of results you get?

It's possible.... I don't know about that ram, but I don't know if I would push it over 2.2V.... did you try dropping the ram divider?

no difference on the 533. I really dont have a clue to overclocking when its all said n done. all I know is that Im stable long enough at 3196Mhz. can do any gaming I want at that freq. would like the satisfaction of a higher OC but memory is just too big a problem
