Default 3gb memory ?

well since i run XP i wanted to remove my 2x512 modules and get 3x1g , but that DDR memory cost like 70$ for 1 stick... That's way too expensive for DDR1..

Do you know where I can find good DDR-333/400 at a good price ? I can't believe it would cost 140/210$ for a 5 years old computer...

Seriously though, you might want to just get a kit. Your system is already old enough and the least you could do is get a good memory kit, I don't recommend mixing memory either.

*Edit: Forgot to add that you can run dual channel memory on a board that doesn't support dual channel technology. It just doesn't run in dual channel mode.

If your getting this for your sig then i would just get a good 2*1 gig kit.Unless you using memory intense programs, you shouldn't need anymore than that.Since you have a low end video card your not playing anything on high so you will not need the extra memory.
