Post RAM benchmarks. 4x2@800 vs 2x2@1066

I built this system not long ago, and knowing little at the time about ddr2 overclocking I bought 4 2gb Corsair dominator thinking I could run them all at 1066. I got them at a great price, so it didn't bother me, I just figured I'd see which way worked better. I used everest ultimate v5 to benchmark the two just to show people a numbers comparison. And before you ask, no I didn't have much to do today. It looks like it gives me a little boost with processes, but will it really be noticeable? I'm going to keep it at 2x2@1066.

I would choose speed over size. Most people will never see the benefit of more than 4GB of RAM, even with vista. If you don't actually fill up your RAM, you don't see any gain with more, really. As long as you have enough to run all your programs without a page file, you don't need any more. Faster RAM will improve general performance a little.

Benching memory can be confusing.
Take the T1 command vs the T2.
Benching will usually give a distorted massive loss in performance at a near 30% drop where as the real world the effect is less than 10%.

i've been told that amd's benifet from the 1:1 ratio, where intels eatup the higher speeds.

With my system, I get faster memory benchmarks with Everest when I set my ram at 800mhz 4-4-4-12 vs 1066mhz 5-5-5-15

I don't get it.

It because u have AMD CPU. For me i get faster performance with DDR2 900 5-5-5-15 then DDR2 - 1000 5-5-5-15 because with DDR2 900 i have 450FSB with CPU and with DDR2 1000 i have 400FSB.
