Default High Idle?
my memory is ALWAYS at 40-49% when idle, i would think that it would not take half of my 4igs just to keep my system idle. is this normal? thanks in advance.

My vista uses 1.3 gb of my 4.0 that is roughly 30%, so maybe some programs you have are using more.

its probably all the processes going on in the background.

try turning off some of the ones you don't use. and you can optimize how much is used when your pc boots.

Technoredneck95, would it be possible for you to include a screen shot of your task manager? Mainly the Processes and Performance tabs? That should hopefully give us a better idea on what you have running in the background ect. When was the last time you restarted your computer?

Look at your process and see what is all running and what is eating up most of your ram....

Thanks for all your help guys just closed 3 of my security programs and knocked it down to 32-33%. I still wish it was lower though.

Vista just takes up alot of ram, just be glad that you have 4gb of RAM and not 2
