In a couple of weeks I'm ordering a big CPU cooler.... and I'm almost sure it won't go well in my Foxconn A79A-S with 4x2GB OCZ Reaper memories


Is it possible to change only the 2 first slots for another memories of same speed (PC6400) and same voltage or should I change all 4 dimms? If they are in separate "dual channel"'s is it ok to have them with different CAS Latency in that case?

Yes you can do. Then again are the voltages equal? All will clock up to the highest timings. Also if you wanna OC hard only do two DIMM's. I well let others explain the logic of that. But i is real.

Mixing memory is not a problem if they use the same IC's (chips). Same voltage and speed is another thing.

Personally I'm not very fond of the Reapers and would get rid of all of them.

@acoma_andy: I might get the OCZ Blade you have on your sig but 800MHz... si I just might get 8GB and sell my 8GB..... what did you mean by same chip?

@asus mobile: I would look for a memory with same voltage, and I wasn't thinking of OC the memory.... I'll only OC the CPU...

The 800mhz regular Blades are nothing special. Only the "LV" models are nice. But since you say you won't be overclocking the memory I guess it's ok.
