thanks the memory managed to run in 1066Mhz

i listened when u said that i should set it so CL 7

u said that i should run is 7-7-7-21 right?

here's what i tried to do:

went to DRAM Timing Mode and chose
Both:

by choosing both, the timing options of DCT 0 and DCT 1 were both shown!

then i set the CL to 7 (the option was actually named CL 7 DH_Only) of both the DCT0 and 1

so the only thing left for me to do was to change the

trcd
trp
tras

all to 7 but the options given to me were only up to 6 CLK

so i left those and everything else set to [Auto]

then i changed the FSB/Memory Ratio from 1:2 to 1:2.66 that gave me 1066 Mhz for the memory

then it booted magically to windows!

here is the specs of the memory accdg to cpu-z:

would it be better for me to go back to 800Mhz with 6-6-6-18?

and is there a good program to test my memory stability of my new settings?

You did fine. If you want more performance you can experiment with timings and see what works. Lower is better. Glad to see the memory finally booted for you though.

A good memory stability tester is memtest. Thats what I recommend. And to see which is faster, just run say something like the crysis benchmark demo and see what kinds of frames you get at 800 with 6-6-6-18 and try it again at 1066 with the other timings. Then just choose which setting gets a higher frames per second. Also just try normally using your pc at each setting and see which feels smoother and faster.

Memtest. Download and burn it to a disk. Reboot and set your bios to boot from CD ROM. Memory needs to run through memtest at least three times without errors or freezing to be stable.

oh well someone realized i was running in SINGLE channel mode.. so they gave me an idea to change the arrangement of the memory sticks.. i checked out the mobo's manual and i should be placing the sticks side by side.. meaning slot 1 and 2 or 3 and 4.. not 1 and 3 (my last configuration)..

finally! i am running at dual channel and at DDR2 1066Mhz 7-7-7-21 @ 2T in DUAL channel mode

someone told me to lower my latencies!

i wish i could do that w/o any problems when gaming and doing simple tasks on windows!
