Heya guys,
Having issues with getting my ram to run at it's specified stock speeds. It is supposed to be able to run 7-7-7-18 timings at 1.9v, the default profile puts it to 9-9-9-24. I've heard some things about XMP profiles and such and was wondering if im just missing something.

Have you tried to manually set it?

Yep, seems to run unstable. I'm not sure if im missing some settings here or what, i have it running at 9 9 9 24 at 1500mhz atm, i've had it at 8 8 8 21 at 1500mhz before when i ran a higher fsb and lower multi.

Manual timings and voltage + memtest = answer. If it is not working then RMA

My board won't run anything stable at 1600mhz either!

Well I do believe that 1600 is an OC on amd sytems. Is there any other voltage options that would deal with the memory? Are your bios up to date?

I have got the same problem running 1600MHz on my gigabyte board also. I have OCZ Gold Series 2GB(2X1GB) DDR3 1600.

You'll def need to OC and work on the sub timings to get it to run at anything close to 1600 @ spec. Let me know what you try and how it goes and I'll help you figure it out. I have tested the PI series quite a bit so I know what the chips like. Have you tried raising NB voltage a tick or two? What does your tRFC, tRC, and tWR look like? Might need to up them a little bit to stabilize. You're at 1500 already, so pretty much just need to fine tune a little.

Yes, raising the NB voltage (NOT CPU-NB, although that can help a bit too in some cases) can dramatically help stability.
I can get my 1333MHz 7-7-7-18 Pi's to run 1672MHz 7-7-5-15-22-1T all day. Other than doing that, you need to manually tune all the subtimings as well as the IMC. |
