Default DDR2 1200MHz vs DDR3 1600MHz

DDR2 CL 5-5-5-18 - $92.20
DDR3 CL 7-7-7-24 - $96.17

Will I see much of a performance difference?
Thanks

Hmm, so should I go DDR2 or DDR3? It's just the motherboard that is a bit more expensive. Future motherboards will be DDR3, so should I get the DDR3 then?

Hm... It won't be too much of a boost but the ddr3 will perform better and yea, it would be better to get ddr3 for future motherboards I guess.

Future DDR3 sets will also be better and cheaper. But the prices from the first post are so close together that it doesn't really matter. You could go with a $80 1150mhz set and clock it beyind 1200 though.

I wonder how long DDR2 will last clocked at 1200 MHz.

Well, OCZ released DDR2 at 1500MHz, so I'd say a while :P

The DDR3 set for sure. Those are great timings.

Quite long, since they are rated to run at a low voltage.

Go for the fast DDR2. I have no experience with DDR3 on an AMD board, but my experience with dual channel DDR3 is not good (Spent too much, no performance gain)
