Default RAM upgrade worth it?

I have a set of these G. Skill DDR2-800 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231148
Would an upgrade to these Mushkin DDR2-1066 be worth it? - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820146785
I do quite a bit of video encoding, so would there be any advantage of going from DDR2-800 @ 4-4-4-12 to DDR2-1066 @ 5-5-5-15?

I actually have another 2x2GB set of the G. Skill set which I maxed the board out with, but that led to a minimal performance gain. 4GB is definitely the sweet spot.

I would suggest OC'ing what you've got, but Gskill doesn't OC well. I don't know how much of a change you'd see from 800 to 1066, but if it were me I'd do it. I'd be willing to be that you can get a decent OC out of those Mushkin's and bring the timings down too.

That mushkin 1066 looks good. Also, may take a look at OCZ blade series.

If you're going to get a higher speed i'd go higher than 1066 (since your coming from 800)

Go for 1200 speed ram.

If I could lower the CAS latency to 4, then it would definitely worth it. Do you think the Mushkins would be able to do that?

I have heard nothing but good things about OCZ memory. Would you recommend the low voltage set over the 2.1V set?

Would I just set the 1200 RAM to run at 1066 and OC from there? Thanks

I couldn't say for sure, every RAM is different and I don't know about that particular set. Try reading some of the customer reviews.

The low voltage RAM set isn't meant for high volts. Try to stay under 2.0v

I've seen those run about 1200mhz 5-5-5-15
