Same here. So to Miked270: perhaps you could ask Overclock.net to compare/share their experience between the Frostbites and the Ascents to see if this heatspreader really does allow for higher overclocking/tighter timings (depending on the chipset, that is) than the same sticks with the Frostbites.

I am hoping that there are people who upgraded from the regular XPs to the Ascent XPs with otherwise-identical memory sticks under the heatspreaders.

This is what I understand as well. The ONLY thing different, AFAIK, is the heat spreader itself. Although I would certainly love to hear otherwise. I myself was looking at these last week and found out that, IC wise, they are identical.

Given that, I was just going to get the cheaper of the 2 and call it a day because AMD memory slots are so close together I'm not certain the bigger sinks would even fit in my board!

Like I said though if that isn't the case I would love to be corrected

Good advice, I've since read in other forums that the new Accent heatspreader's can be a very tight fit on many mobo's. Someone posted that using the MSI 790fx (the mobo I want next) the sticks were nearly bending from being forced in next to eachother. Thats making me lean towards the frostbites. Thanks for the help
