Default ddr3 1333 4x1gb vs 2x2gb

Is there a performance difference anymore when comparing using these different ram variations?

the ram i want has been sold out of 2gb sticks for the last week, and im considering just buying 4x1gb sticks.

AFAIK 4 sticks will put a lot more stress on your NB, and so OC'ing will be more difficult. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

In general, that's correct. Try to stick with 2x2GB kit as possible.
