I just ran some quick Everest benchmarks running 800mhz 4-4-4-12 memory along with 1066mhz 5-5-5-15 along with various NB speeds for reference.
Test setup was: DFI LP DK 790FXB-M2RSH Bios 8/20/09 AMD Phenom II x3 720 @ 3.8ghz OCZ Platinum 1066mhz 800mhz 4-4-4-12 NB @ 2000mhz ![]() NB @ 2200mhz ![]() NB @ 2400mhz ![]() NB @ 2600mhz ![]() NB @ 2800mhz ![]() ![]() 1066mhz 5-5-5-15 NB @ 2000mhz ![]() NB @ 2200mhz ![]() NB @ 2400mhz ![]() NB @ 2600mhz ![]() NB @ 2800mhz ![]() ![]() Conclusion 1066mhz memory is probably slightly better to purchase, but there isn't a huge difference between it and 800mhz I guess. Make of it what you will.
