Default my ram is at 400 but should be 800!?!

I'm a complete noob at this stuff, I've been reading things all day and I'm so confused. I've gone into my BIOS and found alot of the settings like voltage and such. But I cannot figure out which ones to change and what to change them to. The best I can provide about my ram is that it's by kingston and it's part number is 99U5429-003.A00LF It looks like generic ram or something has no heat spacers or anything and it came with my mobo. any help would be awesome because my games lag a bit.

specs
AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 920 Processor (4 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
3070MB RAM
500 GB Hard Drive
ATI Radeon HD 4870 1GB GDDR5
Creative SB X-Fi

Windows Vista™ Ultimate (6.0, Build 6002) Service Pack 2 (6002.lh_sp2rtm.090410-1830)

Asus M3A78-EM AMD 780G Chipset DDR2/800 SATA PCI-Express MBoard w/GbLAN,USB2.0,&7.1Audio

such a headach for me

The RAM is at 800 MHz. For AMD system DDR2/DDR3 the Freq should be doubled of what CPU-Z reports.

This^^

If you see 400MHz in CPUz or in your BIOS, then it is running at 400MHzx2, or 800MHz equivalent. Download Memset and post a screenie of it, then we can see your RAM speed and timings. Also, go to USER CP then halfway down on the left click Edit System and fill in your system specs.

DDR2 so it's double data rate. So, it'll be twice the number.

Yeah I did the same thing with my setup, was freaking out trying to figure out why my ram was running 533, ended up being per channel or w/e.

cheers!

There could be lots of potential reasons why your computer lags. More details would be appreciated.
