Default Need help setting up 800 ram timings

I just got in my new ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820134596

if you don't want to click the link:

Brand Kingston HyperX
Model KHX8500D2K4/4G
Type 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM
Capacity 4GB (4 x 1GB)
Speed DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500)
Cas Latency 5
Timing 5-5-5-15
Voltage 2.2V
Multi-channel Kit Quad Channel Kit
Heat Spreader Yes

This is the most ram I've ever had for my pc. But just as my other ram it shows up as 800mhz and I want it at it's max 1066 but I honestly do not know what to do, I went into my bios and saw where to do it but don't know what to put in. If someone would be SUPER awesome and tell me how to set these timings and everything you'd rock . Sorry if this is asking too much.

thanks,

nick

Download CPU-Z and open up memory tab, copy that to your bios also set your ram voltage.

I looked up your MoBo manual. And not different than many others. You must have AM2+ for 1066Mhz support. You do. But like many/most? 1066Mhz is only supported for 1 DIMM per channel. So unless you want to get 2x2GB you can only run at 800Mhz with 4x1GB. You can run 2x1GB at 1066Mhz.

Sorry. This is such a common issue with MoBo's for AMD's I knew but just had to confirm.

Good luck.

If you want to give more info like what MoBo revision you have I will have another look. I highly doubt a revision issue and the one I found was the only in English.

So could I have 2 of my sticks running at 1066?

and do you think it's even worth it, like will i get that much boost?

Yes two sticks could run at 1066Mhz. But if 800Mhz is tighter timings I think more RAM tighter timings is better. Even more so on AMD.

So you're saying if I "tighten" up all of the 800mhz timings it would be better?

Try running them at 4-4-4-12 timings, 2.1v DRAM voltage at 800mhz. If you are unsure about memory stability download memtest+:

Ok how do I change it to that, I have an idea of where but not where each of those numbers go. (except the voltage I THINK I know where that goes.)

In most bios you simply change the first 4 numbers in that specific order -> 4-4-4-12. Not sure about your board.
