I tried snapping back in a working 1gb ram into the broken ram slot, and it seems to be working again but windows doesnt detect the ram:
__________________Screenshot 1 shows that theres 2046 mb of ram being used which includes the ram in the broken slot ![]() Screenshot 2 says there is no ram installed ![]() What the hell does this mean? should i continue using this board or scrap it and buy a new board of the exact same model

i have a board with a similer problem but its alot older its a 939 slots 1,2, and 4 dont work at all alone but with a stick in slot 3 and 4 it boots and detects the amount i put in it but it wont run duel channel
also cpuz detect the ram in slot 3 as slot 1 and slot 4 as slot 2 what i figure it was is that when i put the new back plate on the board for the big cpu cooler i dident see there was a small diode outside of the little white box on the back of the board causing the tightening of the backplate to warp the board probly pulling the cpu socket off the pcb just enough to kill the first 2 slots and screw up the 4th
