Default Newb question on ballistix(

First, Sup every1 in the digital world. I've stumbled upon OC from google about 95% of my pc asked searches, My Grammer sucks, bear with me. Today I've finally got to make a acc Also flashed my Mobo for the first time (ever)(Ga- M61Pme-S2P was f2 now f5) which allowed me to change my ram from 800 to 1066.

Im still wet behind the ears when it comes to Overclocking "Anything" I over clocked an Amd Athlon 64 3000 Burned that out but thats about it due learned the hardway lack of extra cooling, powersupply, etc etc. Anywho...

My Question(s) is What would be the highest/fastest ram timing on a BL2KIT12864AA106A. which is currently clocked at 400mhz(pc 2 6400) or so sais CPU-z is that normal aswell? shouldnt it be pc2 8500 or is it that cpuz cant tell you otherwise whats the best and safe way to squeeze more juice out my ram any info will be appreciated Thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome.
The part number you listed doesn't tell us a whole lot about the RAM, who is the manufacturer?Crucial..

Ram overclocking depends greatly on the RAM timing and voltage, both of which could need adjustment.
Your ram should be running 5-5-5-15@2.0volts 1066Mhz DDR2-PC2-8500

If you set your ram timmings and voltage in bios @ 5-5-5-15@2.0v you will be running pc2 1066. With the right overclock you could get maybe 1100mhz or a little more.

It reads 400 bc DDR stands for DOUBLE DATA RATE. 400 is = to 800
