Post Buying New Ram, 800 or 1022

Hey Overclockers, this is my first post so if I do anything wrong let me know.

Okay so, I should be getting a new Mobo soon, an ASUS m3a79-t deluxe, but I also need to get some new RAM. I'm not sure how much to get because anything is better than what I have at the moment, 2gb value 667mhz .

Also if I did get 1022, how much do you think I would be able to overclock it?

Honestly I would get a set of G.Skil 800 and overclock those. I think you mean 1066 also instead of 1022.

Welcome to OCN also!

good shout about 1022, first post and already look like a knob.
G.skill...hmm, what are they like to overclock? I don't have a clue how to or anything, but i really want to get into it and I don't want to go out and buy some new parts just to find that they overclock like a tramp in a puddle of rain

G.Skill and overclocking don't exactly go hand in hand. Most G.Skill kits are very tightly binned

well I don't think I'll be getting any g.skill then.

Apparently OCZ are good, they have a warranty that lets you put the voltage up to 2.25 I think. But again, I don't know how to overcock RAM so i don't know how important voltage is an overclock and whether this makes it a good choice or not

Most OCZ kits can be run at .1v over without voiding the warranty. Ex: my kit rated at 2.1v can be run at 2.2v and keep the warranty intact.

I don't overclock memory, but I run this kit at it's rated timings @ 1.95v, which is pretty good considering it should be 2.1v.

Just get any 1066mhz kit with 5-5-5-15 or 5-5-5-18 timings and you will be fine. It's so expensive nowadays, just go with whatever is the cheapest.
