Default Phenom 9950 with 4x2gb ddr2 1066 help.

is it possible to run 4 sticks at 1066mhz on my current system?everytime i force the ram to go to 1066mhz the pc refuses to boot, i even increase the voltage by +300mv (which totals to 2.032v). if the cpu dose not support 4 sticks at 1066mhz can i set it manually to 800 mhz and overclock the HT ref clock (200mhz default)

You cannot natively run 4 sticks at 1066mhz, but you can overclock them to that.

YOu might be able to run them at that speed if you increase your CPU-NB Voltage.

As far as I know, CPU limitation only allows 2 sticks at 1066 (dual channel). In other words, 1066 is supported with 1 or 2 sticks. Not all 4.

Phenom II's are limited to the same 2 Stick 1066 limit. Or 4 Stick, 800 limit.

Though, you'd have a better chance with overclocking them to 1066.

Don't know about that. Many of the peeps who have AM2+ cpu tried to get 4 sticks running 1066 with no success.

I don't even know if ddr3 works the same way. Can AMD support DDR3 with all 4 sticks at 1066? That's what I am curious to find out.

I can get 4 sticks running at 1045mhz on my 7750BE.

It all depends on the chip.

And DDR3 1066 is the low end (like 533mhz DDR2)

You could get 4 sticks of DDR3 running at 1333mhz easy on AM3 setups.

Are you sure? How is that even possible? CPU-Z validation?

It is possible because his IMC is decent. Some are lucky and some aren't.

On my x2 7750 I could only get to around 1000mhz with 4 banks of 1066mhz.
