Your IMC probably can't handle 1600mhz 7CL. Try 133mhz 5 or 6 CL.

Really those Ripjaws should clock much tighter. But I've heard AMD has trouble with those specific ICs and the Platinums clock better.

That dosent make sence I have that same motherboard and my ram run fine at 2133Mhz 8CAS. You sure you dont just got bad ram? If they dont run at what the specify then they might be bad, then a RMA is in order.

TO anwser your OP though 2000Mhz 9CAS ~ 1600Mhz 7CAS so really save the money and stay with the Ripjaws.

I dont have an option to get them to 2000 that I can see, and they are actually underclocked at 9-11-11-29 with it set to auto. antything tighter and its unstable. I dont know what to do here.

RMA. It should run at 2000Mhz 9CAS 1.65V if they dont then yeah its RMA time.
Say they dont run at the specified specs and I would like to get a pair that do.

Post a picture of a prime95 blend test that runs for a few hours.

I couldn't even run 1600mhz CL7 on my x2 550 the IMC was so bad. I've never ever seen an AMD CPU run memory that high properly, even benching. I honestly do not believe you one bit.

There was likely no need to RMA man...

fuloran1, you probably did the right thing RMA'ing the G.Skill Ripjaws 2000 kit. I bought the same kit two weeks ago from Newegg for a new build and it was a little buggy from day one on a Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P board with an X2 550. Couldn't even get it to work at 1600 using 9-9-9 and had to back it down to 1333 9-9-9 to get stable for a few days before it crapped out altogether and system instability got out of hand. I ended up returning it to Newegg for a refund. I picked up the Patriot 1333 4GB PSD34G1333K kit (rated 1333 9-9-9-24 at 1.5V) on the cheap from Fry's for testing and they are perfectly stable in my system. I was going to save the cheap RAM as a test set but I started playing around with the Patriot kit and discovered it will do 1333 7-7-7-20-1T at 1.65V. Passed a couple of hours of Prime95 Blend and the system seems happy with it. No more lockups or BSOD's. Pretty awesome for value RAM. Since I only paid $70 for it, I'm definitely keeping it in my main rig and will continue to run it at the tighter timings. Heck, I may even pick another 4GB while it's on sale so I'll have 8GB total for Windows 7 x64.

I hope your RMA set works out for you and definitely let us know how you make out with it. I like G.Skill and hope we both just got a bad set.

You talking to me or the other guy? Because thats a good question, I have never heard of it running at 2000 on an amd platform either. The guy on the g skill forum says I should run it at 2t with the trfc at 127...if i knew what trfc he meant. theres like 10 places to set trfc in the bios.

So after going to the forum for gskill, they basically said not to expect much, its made for intel platforms. Sooooo, its going back for refund and I'm getting some mushkin blackline with tighter timings. It has reviews from people with my exact board and proc who are running it at rated speed and timings so it looks good to me. I have always liked mushkin anyway.

Thanks guys!
