Default Another "which is better" thread, need opinion

So I have these sticks that I have been unable to tghten the timings on. I am looking at these, which have much better timings and will run at the same freq.

I am just assuming here that the ocz ones will be better because the timings are tighter. They run at the same voltage and the same freq. Maybe an obvious answer, but I just want to be sure as the first set came highly recommended.

Thanks!

if I had en option i would buy the Ripjaws, Tests have shown timings and freq do not make a difference to care much about, so you shouldn't worry that much about it. I have used both G.skill and OCZ and Gskill has been a winner, alot more stable and easy to overclock without much increase in voltage

I like both the OCZ's and G.skill, but all the variables consider, I'd go with G.skill. I was considering getting these for an upcoming build, actually.

I'd stick with your Gskill's.

What do you mean by run at the same freq? The G-Skills runs at 2000mhz with CL9 which would about equal 1600mhz at CL7. And I'm pretty sure that if you raise the DRAM voltage to like 1.65v (from 1.6v stock) you can surely run them at 1600mhz CL7.

my opinion goes to the Ripjaws
they got 400mhz faster speeds and you can prolly OC it to about the same timings the OCZ is, so i would get the Ripjaws,if u already have them DO NOT invest in the OCZ,safe it for something else

Ok then, well, I cant seem to get the timings down on them at all, but I have also never really messed with timings on memory before. I put the voltages at 1.65, my nb at 1.35 and my cpu nb at 1.3. Could not get them to boot at 7-7-7 or 8-8-8. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Frq is 1600, multi is 1:4. And here is something strange, just for the heck of it i changed the timings to 8-8-8-27 and left the nb and cpu nb voltages at auto, with the ram voltage at 1.65, and it booted fine. What should I do next? Keep trying to tweak it down? When should I start to up the ram or any other voltage? And thanks for the help man!

*edit*
Never mind, it isnt stable, turning the clocks back to 9-9-9
