OMG I should know the answer to this but I don't!
A friend brought me an emachines with a sempron 3300+ (not even sure of the socket) in it and had two sticks of unmatched pc3200 ram in it. It wouldn't POST and would long-beep continuously. The ram was bad in it, so I shoved in some sticks of pc2100 to test and it successfully POSTed, but I didn't let it run further till I came here to check.
This emachines motherboard has exactly zero configuration settings for ram or cpu adjustments such as ram divider. Will having this slower ram in it affect cpu clockspeed or will the motherboard automatically adjust to compensate? I may end up selling him this ram if it works fine.
Edit: its model number is T3304
