Unhappy Need DDR3 for 965 on a UD5P MB

Hey all,

After a major misshap last week where I lost my MB and CPU(pin came off and burnt socket plastic) I ordered myself a 965BE and a giga UD5P MB. Now that I got the money I need to order some DDR3 ram. I plan on running 2 sticks for 4Gb's total. But RAM still confuses me a little so I need some help.

In the manual it says channel 0 is slots 1 and 3, so do I run them in that or do I run then in the same colored slots?

It also says that it can run 1033, 1066 OC'd. On my last board (UD4P) I couldnlt get it to run above 800. I think this was due to the ram I picked. So could I get some ideas what ram I want to put in there? Should I get 1866 so I can under clock it and get tighter timings?

My budget is $150 plus shipping so please help a brother out. I mostly game, I have a mega shadow CPU cooler so it can't be anything that sticks up too high.

I look forward to reading your input, thanks

No need to go for memory that quick.

Muskin has the best Dual Channel DDR3 memory at 1600MHz (timings).

This set is 7-7-6-18 @1.85-1.9V

There's also this set if you want 1.65V memory. I don't know which one the 965BE needs. Timings are 7-7-7-18.

And don't won't about supported memory. You'll be fine.
