You need to run a DDR3 or DDR2 stick in an AM3 board. (Depending the type)

there is actually nothing wrong with Gskill. are you sure you set the voltage correct and the timings correct

And those Corsairs you have are actually very good sticks, they overclock VERY well. I have 4 of the 1GB corsairs (PC3200).

G.Skill is great. And NO, you cannot. You can only run DDR3/DDR2 depending on the board. Both are 240 pins, but different, so make sure you don't have A DDR2 board and trying to shove DDR3 sticks in.

no its a ddr3 board asus M4A79XTD EVO. i set the timing and voltage correct. orthos crashed on start of blend with bad stick in but did not with just the good stick in. with memtest 86 running before windows the good stick had 0 errors the bad one i stopped after 2 mins and had 1000s. runnning at 1600 8-8-8-24 1.64v. that is what they are rated at. the bad stick i tested at 800 to see if that would work. no errors in 2 mins on 800mhz
__________________i have to assume its a bad stick from g.skills. i dont know if g.skill is bad or not, most say they are good so i am sure they are i just happen to be one of the few who got a bad one. i am just getting it replaced with same ones so i dont lose my 25 dollar combo discount. the one that works seems great though.

Yes, yes you can run PC-3200 DDR on an AM3 board.
...With a mallet, and some patience.

Your CPU has an integrated memory controller otherwise referred to as the IMC. That is what controls your memory. It is rated to run at 667 megahertz (MHz), since its Dual Data Rate (DDR) it's doubled to 1334 MHz. So if you try to run your memory at anything faster than that it's technically considered an overclock. The RAM is limited by the CPU. Try putting your RAM timings to auto, set it to whatever the recommended voltage is and set the RAM divider to 1333. Then rerun memtest and see if you get errors. I'm thinking that your IMC can't take the speed or the voltage on your RAM is just too low.
