I'm going to get $80 worth of components for my computer for Christmas (at least that's what I'll definately get) and I get to pick. Should I get memory or a hard drive? My specs are:

Try getting a 160-300 gb hard drive.

You should really look for getting more RAM, not only is RAM used mre than a Hard Drive during gaming the RAM will allow your system to "Breathe" when info is being transferred...
I actually have 2x512MB sticks (OCZ Value Dual Channel 3-4-4-8 timings) that I need to get rid of, they're good but I got 2GB OCZ Platinums and my system is running better now You're money is better spent on RAM, you're system wil run faster with it, getting a Hard Drive does nothing for the system other than make mroe space Hope this helps

I am giving him relevant info and sicne I think it is kind of dmb that you need 75 rep just to sell stuff here I mentioned it, I'm not trying to rip anyone off...
I'll take it off and PM him if he wants it but I can sell anything on ehre cause of rep, and I am giving him the info that he needs, He needs mroe RAM and not a hard drive And i dont see how bashing my post is helping, you need to watch what you say, oh and thanks for adding relevant info to the thread

Yeah, I think RAM would be your best bet. for that price you will probably be limited to some 'value' RAM
try OCZ, Geil, or g-skill a 1gb kit would do the trick, get you better timings and dual channel. you'd see better performance... yeah, you'd have to upgrade again in the future if you do decide to get 2gb... but it's kinda 6 and one half doezon the other...

Which RAM though? I think the OCZ is the best out of those, but does anyone have any experience with it to tell me?
