I have read alot of places that say active cooling would be good for my GeIL One BH-5 ram, is it really needed?

If you are re
ally overclocking the stuff and have high voltage than yes. If any ram needs active cooling, its BH-5 ram, it runs very hot with alot of voltage to acheive its potential. I would suggest just rigging up a 80mm fan right on it, or putting a 120 in your side panel and using a vent to get it over the ram. I definatly suggest something to get some airflow to the ram. It will boost your performance and inhance overclocking potential!! Good luck!

Yes, active cooling is required for any vdimm over 3.4 volts, which you basically need in order to OC your RAM to its fullest. Just be sure you don't go over 3.6 without further active cooling.
