Default Why do so many people dislike Corsair?

I've been reading through this section, and lots of people do not like corsair by the looks of things.

Quite simply, Why?

Yeah, Corsair is great when it works, and is a good product, but just hope to the RAM God's that you never have to deal with thier Customer Service.

So it is actually a good performer then? And it is the customer service that lets it down?

Yes, Corsair memory is great, and performs very well. (Especialy the DDR2 variety.) They aso have many unique features such as LED's and assorted monitors onboard.

I reccomend you buy from a store that does it's own returns, so if it is bad for some reason you can get it replaced by the retailer.

I'm not sold on Corsair memory being great.

the first pair of Corsair RAM I bought was some XMS3200C2PT. it would go up to DDR480, but it would not run at a 1T command rate period. didn't matter the speed or the voltage. other RAM would run 1T on my board.

I RMA'd it. The second set I got ran at 1T... but died after less than 24 hours.

the 3rd set worked as it was supposed to...

so, not only does their customer service suck... but 1 out of 3 sets of RAM says to me that their product sucks too

Also, Corsair RAM has a tendency not to work with DFI Lanparty boards, which basically is the overclocking platform.

my only knock against the corsair memory is its price.. I mean, why get this memory (cas is 3), when you can get this for 15 bux more? (timings of 2-3-2-5)

Its over priced and hyped. IMO the best most compatible ram out there is OCZ.
