Default Question about Ballistix timings,,, on expert

Since my opt 170 core 0 cant go past 2.65 ghz even after nights of burn in, I have settled in at 2.6ghz 24/7,,,

Kinda sad because i have clocked core 1 over 2.8 ghz stable but anyhow I am running my Ballistix right now at 1:1 divider and 3-3-3-8 timings,, and 2.83 volts,, I can probably lower the volts

by my question is do you think I can tighten up my timings if im only going to be stayin at 260 mhz with the ram,,,, and what tighter timings have any of you had success with,,,

if there ddr400, you could tighten the final 3 up just a bit but lay off the CAS latency until you have used that setup for a while, maybe a month of good use, switch it, and so-fourth

I have DDR500 Ballistix, running at 270 1:1, 2.9V and 3-3-3-7. I can go to 3-3-3-5 but I get best results at 7.

well at first I try loading 2.5-3-3-7 and get an imediate error when it trys to load windows,, a BSOD and then black screen,,,

so I reboot go into bios and try 3-3-3-7 and then exit and bam BSOD except this time i go to reboot and I am get no post beep and its just my power light blinking like mad,,,,

So i have no choice but to clear CMOS,, takes 4 tries of clearing CMOS and I get into bios,,, then my bios is acting funny I am actually freezeing in bios until I get all my settings back squared away,,,

If i am freezeing while changing bios options should I reflash the bios I mean after a CMOS clear shouldnt it run smooth,,,

I've had that exact same thing happen to me while messing with memory timings...but for me a CMOS clear fixed every thing. Were your settings all still there? as if you hadn't cleared them? maybe you should try taking out your mother board battery for a few minutes instead. That sounds odd...
