I followed this tutorial to find the max mhz of my ram...
__________________http://www.overclock.net/faqs/31782-...limits-my.html Either I am not changing a certain setting or this memory sucks for O/Cing. Even with the slightest O/C on my CPU I cannot get the ram to boot at 200mhz. I have to run a divider at 166mhz. Am I forgetting to change a setting? System specs in sig. -Allen

Which flavor of XMS is it? Corsair has numerous products in that line.

The C2 isn't the greatest product in the world, but it's far from the worst and should OC for 30-40 MHz I would imagine. Try upping your vdimm when you overclock to around 2.8 volts (Corsair warrants their DDR to 2.9 volts). Also, try setting the timings manually. Sometimes mobos/RAM do not communicate the SPD information well.

See if it makes a difference loosening the timings alot, and also switching to 2T.
Could be a problem with the motherboard.

Timings are the number you frequently see written as 3-3-3-8, 2-2-2-5, or similar. On AMD systems, a 1T or 2T is usually tacked on the end. Each number represents a property of the RAM, and the lower, the better. Low numbers are considered tight while higher numbers are considered loose.
I believe the stock timings on your RAM are 2-3-3-? (I can't recall the last number, but it's in the range of 5-7). To loosen the number, just bump them up a bit. For testing, it's ok to be too loose, but you'll want to tighten things back down once you find some stable settings.

c2 is actually 2-3-3-6 and is rated to ddr500 w/ really loose timings. try 2.5-4-4-8 2t and you should be able to push your HTT up to 250+. also, with your motherboard, if its just giving you the options of .1 .2 or .3, then .3 should be 2.9 because most boards default this memory to 2.6v
__________________btw, this menu should be in advanced options. and most boards its listed in this order, but some (like mine and dfi) they are listed backwards. but its really easy to distinguish. in each menu there should be the lowest settings. one has 2, 2.5 and 3 to choose. the rest have between 2 and 8, then the last one (the one that says eight) should have the lowest option to choose 5
