Default Hey memory question!!! :)(:

I have a pair of corsair value select 512 mb (1gb total) and i decided to get a muskin pc4000 extreme performance stick (1gb) so that i could overclock to 3ghz on air (lol..i know now) anyway i did some tesitn with 3dmark05 with the two corsairs in at once and then the muskin in by it'sefl and for the corsair i got 3524 3dmarks, 4956 cpu marks and with the muskinn...3578 3dmarks, 4819 cpu.
when i had the corsair in.i had the multiplier at 12 and the memory at 213 with vcore at 2.7. With the muskin i had the memory set to 255 and the multipler to 10. both with the producte of 2.55~2.56ghz. any higher and my venice thermal take heatsink with as5 (by the way) would of been able to handle these temps. my question is....should i keep the corsiars for the fraction of the price and return the muskin cause memory speeds arn't really a factor with the athlon 64. The only difference i see outside of benchmarks is when i play eq2...i get a niticable increase of performance with the muskin. what i want is to be able to run multiple apps and be able to to many things on my comp with stability... and not so much as games....(i would lower the settings on eq2 to fix that problem)
well here is my detailed system spects provided by sisoft sandra....http://members.cox.net/joshin2472003...m%20Report.txt

any help would be aprpecated...thkans........josh

man...you shoulda got 2 512 sticks of mushkin pc4000. The dual channel will help level out the scores in the benchmarks. Plus you need to tighten the timings on the mushkin ram. It comes clocked relatively loose from factory. Tighten it up. Then see where we're at.

Default hey

all i'm asking if i should keep my muskin or return it for 124 dollars and just use my corsair which costed 70 dollars with a minor setback in peformance.....or maybe if someone would look at my specs and thinks i have soemthing set wrong that would make the muskin peform better. such as voltage or timings. or any other thigns would be good. thank yo for all your replys you are very appreciated.

I wouldnt return it for corsair memory, corsair is overpriced for what you get.. If i were you, i would keep that current memory, give it some more volts and tighten down the timings... why return your memory for cheaper lower preformance memory?
