My friend installed an Epox SLI motherboard yesterday, and when he got everything installed, he pressed the power button and...
the PC fired up, fans came on, DVD drive started to whine up to speed and right when I thought I was just about to hear the post beep, the whole thing would just shut down. The same thing happened about 4 or 5 times so we decided to remove the motherboard to make sure there was nothing underneath like a screw or something that was shorting it out..............found nothing. Re-installed motherboard, got everything hooked back up except this time it would do NOTHING when ya hit the power button. I was thinking it was the power supply, so we put his old mobo back in (AsRock Dual Sata) and everything worked perfectly again. How can a motherboard work perfectly one minute, and just go dead the next?? The reason I know the motherboard was working is because it was an extra that I had from my old rig. He has a 3800x2, corsair ddr400 ram, 7900gt, etc........ weird

The power supply is a 400watt Antec....I know it's not really the best PSU to use, but it has enough juice to power the core components; Everything else does work on another motherboard. It's like it just died suddenly.
