Default I think I just bricked my motherboard.

So I was trying to flash my a8n sli deluxe to a premium as shown in this guide. http://www.overclock.net/amd-motherb...-bios-mod.html it posted and than I got an error saying NTLDR missing Press any key to restart. I pressed space a few times and kept gettting the same thing so I went to restart and now when I push the power nothing happens no fan, no lights, no nothing. I also already took out the power supply and had it tested at a local pc place, and it is fine. I am pretty sure the motherboard is dead. The guy at the pc shop said something about getting an eprom for it, what exactly does that entail and is it even possible?

NTLDR is the NT Loader, which involves windows, and not the EEPROM chip. You probably need to reformat and reinstall. Or possibly use a Linux live cd and try and recover what you can, and then reformat and reinstall.

EDIT: Guess I didnt read far enough, weird how you get a load error, then restart and now dead.

I would love to re-install, the problem is that absolutely nothing happens when I press the power button. I have heard that if you hit the power button too quickly it can hurt the motherboard, after I got the error I hit it once to restart, and then again to start pretty quickly, could it be i killed the mobo that way?

If you have a removable BIOS chip you can just buy a new one, or get someone to reprogram yours. I had it happen to me. FYI, the DFI SLI-DR Expert BIOS won't work with the SLI-DR

I don't know if this mobo has a removable bios chip, isn't that something that you usually add yourself? Also, I will lose all of my data unless I replace this mobo w/ anything other than the exact same one or does it need to just have the same raid controller?

No you don't add the chip, and it is removable. Your data is on your HD so you should be fine as long as you have your RAID setup in the exact same way. I'd look into finding someone to reload your standard bios or get a new chip.

Thanks for all of the help guys. What I meant about the data is that the hds are in raid 0, if I was to get a new mobo would any nforce4 board work or just the one I am replacing? Any idea of where I could possibly get a new bios chip online, or is reprogramming mine something an independen pc shop wouuld be able to do?

I don't mess with RAID much, but I think you will be fine. I found someone on DFI-Street that sent me a new chip. Anyone with an EEPROM programer (I think that's what it is called) will be able to help you out.

Ok, I let it sit for a while and now at least the green light on the bottom of the mobo comes on, does this mean that it is in fact the bios that is curropted?
