Default System crashing on Albatron kx18ds pro

Just bought this board with a 500watt PS and a Radeon 9600xt. The reason I'm posting to this forum is I have one temperature reading 90c. I haven't been able to get the system to complete 3dmark without crashing. errors are usually some shader or another is corrupt if the system doesn't reboot. The more I run 3d mark the less further in I get. sounds like a heat problem so I download Speed fan and look at the cpu, but temps are ok 46c. I also remove the gpu cooler and remove the thermal tape. Replace with heatsink compound. no help. Speedfan temp shows one temp at 90c. The temp is Temp1 and is coming from a Winbond W83L785TS-S on bus nForce2 SMBus address is $2E. The south bridge seemed a bit hot so I put a heatsink on it as well. No change in temp probe. Does anyone have any idea what this might be measuring? The temperature does go up during 3dmark and come back down to 90 while at idle.

I downloaded MBM5 and it agrees this temp is not the cpu in fact it doesn't even read this temp although it does scan that bus.

Everything is running at default volts and clocks. I dropped the AGP to 4x from 8x and disabled fast writes no help.

system info
Amd 2500 Barton runs at 46c idle
500watt ps
512mb ram
ATI 9600xt 128

volts 3.3 is 3.41
5 is 5.11
12 is 12.4

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum. 46 idle is a little high and probably is the cause of your system crashing.
