OK I had a problem the other day and got long post beeps. A left the computer alone for a while and it magically worked again.
Last night I was playing HL2 for an hour or two and it crashed on me... nothing new, it happens from time to time. When I went to boot my computer I got those long beeps again. I let it sit overnight hoping it would be better by the morning but no luck this time around. The only explanation is in the pdf manual which states:A.1 POST Beep There are two kinds of beep codes in the BIOS. One code indicates that a video error has occured and the BIOS cannot initialize the video screen to display any additional information. This beep code consists of a single long beep followed by three short beeps. The other code indicates that a DRAM error has occured. This beep code consists of a single long beep. I'm getting a long beep over and over again. What the hell is a DRAM error anyway? They don't tell me how to fix it. I pulled out both sticks of RAM dusted 'em off, put 'em back in (did this twice) and I still get the beeps. I even pulled out video card for good measure but nothing. What am I doing differently?

I've had this happen before also, for no apparent reason. The only way I cleared it was to open up my case and disconnect power from everything, let it cool off, then hook everything back up. Cleared the problem, but no idea what caused it.

a couple things:
-the RAM has to be in those 2 specific (orange) slots in order to run dual channel. -video card was reseated already -SLI ca't "activate" itself unless I physically move the SLI jumpers -I'll try one stick at a time, thanks

Rep/ Post # = worthless

Im seeing more and more problems on the new dfi boards especially concerning memory... as waffles said, start trying 1 stick at a time, each time trying a different slot until you test each stick individually with each slot and memtesting if you can get it to boot... also, if you have any other ram, now would be a good time to try it as well
simultaneous post...

OK I fixed it, thanks guys reps on me
I ran 1 stick in a dual channel slot (orange) and it booted. Then I ran the other stick in the same slot and it booted again. Ram obviously works. Then I added the 2nd stick in the second dual channel slot (orange) where it originally was and it booted right up again. Weird though, I guess even DFI can't be perfect.
