Wondering if anyone else has a problem with their USB 2.0 drivers? I plugged in my printer and installed everything right. It has a port for either USB 2.0 or for regular USB... I use 2.0. Then I got this bubble (pic #1) saying my "High speed USB device (the printer) is plugged into a non-high speed USB hub."
When I double click the bubble it shows me (pic #2) all my 10 USB ports but none are labled USB 2.0. Under the device manager however (pic #3) it shows the USB 2.0 controller. I tried to install the drivers from the DFI disk but for some reason when you double click the .exe file it just goes to this screen (pic #4) and then nothing. No "click finish," no prompt for reboot, nothing, it just goes back to the desktop. Kinda weird IMO. I used the same printer & printer drivers on my old DFI board and it worked like a charm. Anyone else have a problem with their USB 2.0?

I'm having the same problem.
I've tried reinstalling the USB drivers, updating the mobo drivers. I've even wiped the system and started again, but still it wont enable USB 2.0.

ahh i nos this problem well, in short, dont use the DFI drivers they are old and crappy. after installing XP you need to install SP1A, from there install the chipset drivers and the USB ports are automatically detected and set up via the chipset install and XP
i think i got the standalone drivers somewhere too lemme see if i can find them. I know you prolly already done this but i'll mention it anyway, update the mobos BIOS, as to put it bluntly, its BIOS is a POS in a lot of ways, USB and memory compatability being at the frontmost. that driver i attached is for 9x\ME but works perfectly in XP. just run the setup, and if need be after the restart go to device manager>USB controllers and point to the location where the drivers were installed with that setup utility and update them. cant remember if the drivers work with SP1A, but im pretty sure they do.

I flashed my bios to the 3.2 performance bios I got from DFI-Street. Installed the drivers you gave me, the only difference was they made me reboot. But I still got the same problem.

SP1A lets XP recognise USB ports\devices properly. although your supposed to do a total clean install of XP then install SP1A or things will fubar up
