Default Wich AM2 mobo

Since I'm waiting for Penryn, I thought I'd buy a cheap but nice dual core for the moment so I sold my P5B and for that money I'm getting a 3600+ Brisbane (calvin's cpu) and now I need a mobo. Budget is low, MUST be under 80$ since the point of selling my P5B is to buy a nice and cheap set-up. I need to be able to oc the cpu to 3ghz on that mobo, the cpu does like 2.4ghz on 1.15v and it does it on the stock cooler. Hopefully with my Gemin II I can go higher. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

I was thinking about getting an open box Biostar T-FORCE 550(50$ on the egg) but from reading about durch's open box expirence with this mobo, I'm not convinced about getting it now.

I'm liking that crossfire board since I'm planning on gettting 2 2900pro's down the road, but that will be with Yorkfield. Anyways, both of those motherboards will alow me to oc to 3ghz? Also I sold my G. Skill ram and I'm stuck with some cheap PQI Turbo Ram, it's 667 so I'm worried about my ram limiting me, should I be? I'll make sure to "thank you" by pressin the rep button.

Nah the 667 ram shouldn't limit you, most 667 stuff can overclock to 800mhz with a little higher voltage. Just set the ram to 533mhz when you start overclocking and by the time you get to 3Ghz from say 2Ghz stock you'll be at 800mhz or so.

And yes all the boards here are proven as good overclockers.

That ram will be fine. If you run 333*9 and a 400 divider, you'll be at 333. Look here:
http://www.overclock.net/amd-memory/...-dividers.html

I forget what the 9.5 multi gives you for RAM dividers.

Thx. I might go with that X-fire mobo. Although if any one else has any cheaper suggestions then you're welcome to post them.

Nice crossfire board
That 480X chipset doesn't support 2 pci-e 16x lanes in crossfire? Is the Xpress 3200 chipset the only one that supports the 2 full pci-e lanes in crossfire? I looked the 480x up on the amd website and the chipset only supports up to 2gb/s bandwidth in crossfire, compared to the x3200's 8.
When I finally move over to am2, I'm going to want to take full advantage of my crossfire setup, even if it means spending $50 more. The ASUS M2R32-MVP is my future mobo.
