" the world’s first motherboard supporting AMD AM2+ CPU. After a long-term cooperation with AMD, the M2A-VM motherboard series is the first to be available." But, If you drill down to their MoBo list "M2A-VM" it says AM2 @ HT2.0, and the others on the list all include current AM2 boards! Confused?? Cheers!

This is what I found: Quoted From: http://news.softpedia.com/news/Biost...rd-58240.shtml "Biostar Unveils the First AM2+ Motherboard - Phenom motherboards starting to emerge..." By: Ionut Ciocirlie, Hardware Editor And Biostar Web: http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en-us/...t.php?S_ID=287 "Although Phenoms are still at least three months away, motherboard manufacturers are already starting to produce AM2+ solutions which will be natively compatible with the new Phenom series. And since Biostar has always been an innovation specialist, it seems that they are the first to roll out an AM2+ MoBo, namely the TF560 A2+. " Are they really "True" Am2+? Or, are they just Compatible, enabled, or capable? Some/ most "AM2 " Mobos are capable of accepting an AM2+ cpu ( Old AM2 Boards??? that need a BIOS flash! to enable some AM2+ "compatibility"); That's not say they are "True" AM2+ Boards (Ones Designed for -Not adapted to - AM2+ CPUs) From: http://www.asus.com/news_show.aspx?id=8305 "ASUS gives the world the first motherboard, the M2A-VM, which is compatible with the latest AMD AM2+ " Quote:
A "True" AM2+ Crosshair????: That would be Uber ![]() All of which led me to do "the google" and find the following on The Discussion forum at anandtech: http://forums.anandtech.com/messagev...readid=2097292 "Does it mean that the existing AM2 motherboards will be turned into AM2+ with the bios flashing - with HT 3.0 and separate power lane for the Phenom processors?" ..."I always assumed a new mb"... "...No, it means that existing AM2 motherboards can run AM2+ processors but will be limited to HT2.0 and a single power plane. Only AM2+ motherboards will support HT3.0 and separate power planes..." As far as I understand the "marketing strategy?!?!. If it supports HT3.0 then it IS AM2+ , If it doesn't then It is a reworked AM2 with BIOS update; Marketed as "AM2+ Capable, or compatible.! I Think the HT3.0 is the criteria for "proper" AM2+ ?!? ![]() So, does Biostar's claim Hold true??? http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=3051 "Don't let the name confuse you: while the board supports AM2+ CPUs - like many AM2 boards will after a BIOS update - it is still a standard AM2 platform.)" According to Anandtech: Not!! Two very well respected companies; Both, claiming to have "First" AM2+ Who gets the crown for the first "True" AM2+??? ??????????? So, just a helpful note to everyone looking to get a new AM2+ MoBo: Be very very careful reviewing the specs and double check that you are getting what you intended! Even the Pro's are getting Duped ![]() Cheers
