Shameless plug, but check out mine.

I'm selling it for $80 too ^_^

It ain't SLI, but it is a hella board. (you don't want SLI anyway, we promise).

If you are OCing, the 570 is junk. I would think one of the new 8800gt's would be fine. Also, the 560 does support the unlocked multi (up to 25 I think). There is someone on these boards that has one with that CPU.

well let me ask you this, since the 5000+ black has an unlocked multiplier, does it matter if the board overclocks well? Or is it that the board has to be able to change the multiplier in an unlocked processor? What im trying to say is, if people say the board doesnt oc well, would that matter if all im wanting to do is oc the proc to 3.2

Yes it still matters if only for the fact that a good quality motherboard/chipset will you give better stability whether at stock speeds or 3.2GHz.

The onlocked CPU multi is certainly helpful indeed but if the board in question does not support an unlocked multi it's a bit pointless.

I would also second drlab on the 570 it is a chipset to be avoided if overclocking is your goal.

I personally think the whole unlocked multi thing is hype. If you get a decent board, you don't need it. The only benefit I see is being able to dial in RAM timings.

As far as the mobo overclockability, I agree that it shows the quality of the board. If a board overclocks well, to me that means it was made well enough to exceed its designated purpose.

I will say, it seems to me public opinion that a single high end card is better than 2 mid-range in SLI. The only real advantage to SLI doesn't show up until you start getting into the higher resolutions. If you are using 1280x1024 or so, I would stick with a single card. If you are going higher, then I would start looking into SLI. Most often, though, it is more trouble than it is worth. Look up some benchmarks. there are plrenty around with the new 8800GT and 8800GTS coming out. Although, I suppose this means you could find some nice used mid-range cards out there....

edit: also, not all applications can utilize SLI to its full potential.
