On the temps, 50ish is common, I recall a ceiling of an unbelievable 90c, but I can't seem to find the info to back up the max temp claim!

You have given me very sound advice before and will take your word for it.

I ended up removing it anyway and applying some shin etsu. Dropped my temps to a cool 40c and my CPU temp went down with it.

Nice I an about to do the same thing with my new P5K-E been running flawless so far but want to push it more. Gonna do that and add a fan to the NB and maybe by the VRMs up top.

Crazy Heatpipes on that thing!

If you bailing totally on the stock heat pipe system, make sure you attain cooling for the mosfets.
